What is this site?
A page on life, the world, and the universe viewed through the lens of primarily Chinese philosophy.
Who is Zhuangzi?
Zhuangzi (莊子 or 庄子), 369 BC – 286 BC, was a Chinese philosopher who lived during the Warring States Period of the Zhou Dynasty. The Warring States Period was also the time of the Hundred Schools of Thought, an era of great intellectual exploration in China. Zhuangzi was one of the most influential thinkers in the development of Taoist philosophy, emphasizing holism over dualities, living in harmony of each individual’s nature, and recognizing the limited perspectives of personal viewpoints, among other topics.
Why the Modern World?
Principles may be constant, but manifestations of the universe are subject to change. This blog is a forum and commentary on current trends, news, and ways of thinking through the lens of Chinese philosophy.
How learned are you in Chinese philosophy to write this blog?
I admit that I am not that well versed in Chinese philosophy, hence the disclaimer, “misinterpreting Chinese philosophy for the 21st Century.” I’ve read a bit and have been processing it for a bit, but I also welcome others’ views and commentaries on what I observe.
